Heavyweights Join Mobile
Entertainment Forum Asia Board

9 November 2006: Industry heavyweights Warner Bros Entertainment, WiderThan and Dada were voted onto the expanded board at MEF Asia’s annual general meeting on 2 November in Singapore. The AGM was held on the second day of Mobile Entertainment Market (MeM) Asia, MEF’s official annual event for Asia’s mobile entertainment professionals.

The newly appointed members join existing board directors from Hungama, Sony BMG, Streamezzo, Sun and VeriSign. The board also voted to re-elect Stefan Rust (Sun) as Chairman and Ruuben van den Heuvel (Sony BMG) as Vice-Chairman. See below for new MEF Asia board in full.

Stefan Rust, MEF Asia Chair commented: “With an expanded regional executive board, MEF Asia can better facilitate the development of commercial standards and best practices in our fast-evolving industry. I look forward to working closely with our new board members to create critical initiatives and promote industry advocacy.”

The continued growth in membership and MEF’s geographical reach mean the forum is ideally placed to provide authoritative comment and provoke debate to drive the industry forward. Recent initiatives have focused on hot topics including mobile video, DRM, mobile communities, quality of service and ad-funded mobile content.
